Introducing Nightwatch

Behold, bless the Lord,
All you servants of the Lord,
Who by night stand in the house of the Lord!
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary,
And bless the Lord.

The Lord who made heaven and earth
Bless you from Zion!
— Psalm 134

Last night was our first Nightwatch and it was a powerful time of devotion and intercession for Wythenshawe as well as the city and wider Greater Manchester area.  There is something precious about gathering in the night hours and pressing into God.

I wanted to take a moment to tell you about the journey that lead to our nightwatches.  The Lord laid on our hearts at the very beginning of MHOP that we would be a resource, a support to the city working with churches and ministries to see prayer arise and the gospel preached and demonstrated across Manchester and beyond.  Along the journey we have connected relationally with various churches and ministries one of which has been Prayer Storm.  We love the heart and vision behind Prayer Storm and we share a lot of the same values as them and we have always tried to see how we can support one another,  you may remember back in 2012 we co-hosted a screening of Nefarious with them too.  In January this year,  James and I met and in the midst of sharing what the Lord had been saying and doing in each of our lives we began to discuss how we could collaborate moving forward, whether we should, how we could etc.  This discussion lead us to where we are.  Every Thursday since September last year, James and Prayer Storm have held a weekly, all night prayer meeting, from 10pm - 7am the next day.  We are supporting and collaborating with them in this meeting by leading a devotional (of sorts) from 12pm-2am.

We'd love for you to come and join us as we pray in the night hours.  You can come for any of the meeting, from 10pm-7am, and stay as long as you want but you might want to consider joining us for our 12pm-2am Nightwatch.  Find out more about when and where we meet here.
