Blessed is the man...
whose delights is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season.
— Psalm 1:1-3

God didn't simply give us the bible so we would know some history, learn information about Him or as a self help guide.  He gave us His living word so that we could encounter Him!  Jesus tells us that the whole book reveals different facets of who He is, if we would take the time to look for Him in it.  One of the best ways encounter Jesus in the bible is to meditate on it.  Meditating on the word is mentioned over 40 time in the bible.  Not only are we commanded to (Josh. 1:8), but we grow in wisdom (Ps. 119:97-99), it is transformative (Phil. 4:8), leads to rest (Ps. 4:4), but it is also enjoyable (Ps. 104:34)!

Meditation Groups meet throughout the month for led meditation on a verse or passage believing that as we meditate on His word we will encounter Him.  Regardless of how long you've been a believer or how well (or not) you know the word, mediation groups are a dynamic way of going deeper into scripture to experience more of who God is.  Come join us on this journey into knowing Him more!

What to expect

Each month we focus on a specific verse. Rather than a bible study led by someone, it is a chance for you to take some time to consider the verse by reading, writing, singing, saying and praying the verse.  We spend about 45 minutes meditation on the verse individually before we come together and share how we encountered God and what He was saying to us.  During the meditation we have quiet music on and people are able to sit, stand, pace or move about however they feel comfortable.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
— Psalm 23:4
