Urgent call to prayer for Iraq

And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?
— Luke 18:7-8

There has been a situation brewing in Syria and Iraq for some time with the exponential increase of an organisation called ISIS.  Over the last month this has turned into the bloody persecution of Christians within Iraq.  As the situation continues to darken it is vital that the worldwide church rises up in prayer for God's light to shine and for His speedy justice for our brothers and sisters in Iraq.  Whist we are highlighting two prayer meetings and encouraging you to come if you can, the heart of this message is to cause you to seek The Lord over His people in Iraq in your personal, daily prayer times.

Tonight at The Ark in Flixton there is a prayer meeting for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East, particularly Iraq at 8pm.  The meeting is open for anyone to join.

We are changing our advertised 8-10pm devotional to an intercession meeting, again praying for the Middle East and Iraq.  As usual this will be at Mount Chapel in Salford. If you are a part of our team we are asking for you to make this meeting a priority and would encourage everyone to come if you can.

We would encourage you to join us for either or both of these prayer meetings and also to engage with the churches and ministries across the city as they rise up in prayer for this desperate situation.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
— john 16:33

Our God is a God of hope and love and peace, as we pray we must fix our eyes on Him, full of faith that He hears our prayer and answers them.
