Life Prayerwatch, 11th January 2015

Our first Life Prayerwatch is coming up this Sunday, we hope you can join us as we exalt the name of Jesus and declare life across the UK.

Worship with the Word

O Lord, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!
...When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
— Psalm 8:1, 3-5

Man is so important to The Lord, you are so important to Him!  It is astounding to think that the one who created all thing would be so concern with each detail of our lives and so sure relationship with us.  We'll be meditating on this reality on Sunday.

For intercession we are going to be continuing to pray for the church in Manchester and the UK that the silence surrounding the issue of abortion and other life issues would be broken.  The church plays a vital role in communicating the heart of God and it is vital that we do not back away from topics which are difficult.

We'll also be praying for amazing work that Image and other organisations like them do in post abortion counselling.  This is such a vital service, speaking life, compassion and wisdom into a difficult situation.  We'll be praying for both the women receiving the counselling but also for those both writing and delivering the courses for wisdom, guidance, favour and protection as they do this vital work.

Finally, we'll be praying for an ending to abortion in the UK.  For nearly 50 years abortion has been legal in the UK and we have lost generations of families as a result.  As we pray for the ending of abortion we also pray for an increase in adoption.

We hope to see many of you there, Sunday 8pm at the Mustard Tree in Ancoats.
